Members of Radford's Chorale, with the gold and platinum award trophies

On 31 August, Radford College Chorale performed in the choral section of the Australian National Eisteddfod. Held at Canberra Girls Grammar School, this section of the Eisteddfod brought together some of the finest secondary school choirs from across Canberra, including Canberra Girls Grammar School Chorale, Merici College Choir, Daramalan College Choir, and St Clare’s College Chorale.

Led by conductor Stephen Leek, and accompanied by pianist Bronwyn Brown, our singers gave beautifully polished renditions of three very different works: Blue Skies (arr. Irving), Sure on this Shining Night (Barber) and South Australia (arr. Stephen Leek). Radford Chorale’s attention to detail was duly rewarded. Radford was one of two choirs in the section to receive a Gold Award, and the only choir to receive a prestigious Platinum Award.

Congratulations to Radford Chorale and their leaders, Stephen Leek and Bronwyn Brown on this significant achievement!
