One of the many giving groups at Radford College is the $20 Challenge. For those of you living under a rock, the main intention of Giving Groups is to give back to Radford and the community. The Radford Reporters for instance, produce articles for the Bulletin about the various Giving Groups.

The $20 Challenge is run by small groups, all with the same meagre sum of money. It occurs fortnightly on Wednesdays in Period 2. Each group has their own category in which they create and sell, e.g. candles, bath bombs and bandannas. It's completely up to the students to create and sell their items.

In a nutshell, the main intention of the $20 Challenge is to start with a small initial sum of money to ultimately create a profit. The money raised will go to a charity of each group’s choosing. The students involved are using real world business skills, with some students saying: ‘It’s fun to experience what it’s like to be an entrepreneur.’

Overall, the $20 Challenge is a unique and intriguing Giving Group, which gives back to Radford and the wider community.
