Radford Snowsports Awards Night

With our end of season dinner and awards night hosted on 25 September 2014, our Snowsports season has drawn to an end. It was with great pride that we reflected upon the achievements and camaraderie that manifested throughout the 2014 winter. The opportunity to ski and snowboard regularly both at recreational and competitive levels is something that we Canberrans can truly boast about.

Given the volume of snow that blanketed our mountains, it was no surprise that the size of our team increased significantly from previous years. Skiing and riding on good quality snow certainly contributed to the heightened levels of enthusiasm and results among our Junior and Senior teams. We entered skiers and snowboarders in the Scots College Cup, ACT Southern NSW Interschools Championships, ACT Citizens Cup, ACT Schools Cup and the Australian Championships. Our students competed exceptionally well taking out the Senior Boys ACT Schools Cup as well as a number of top ten results in the Australian National Championships. Max Mandl came 2nd in the Snowboard GS, Dylan Grubb came 5th in the Skier Cross and Amelia Hodgson came 10th in the GS.

Our Radford Snowsports Team holds a strong reputation across the ACT and the national circuit. Our students are complemented for their sense of integrity and team spirit while their parents are acknowledged for their generosity in volunteering actively as course officials, bus drivers, team managers and coaches. Should your son or daughter be an intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder who may be interested in joining our Snowsports Team in 2015, please see our Radford Online co-curricular page or contact Belinda Reitstatter in the Junior School for more information.
