Early Sunday morning 25 January, ten staff and thirty-two rowers got up at the crack of dawn and headed down to the Radford rowing shed ready to embark on six days of intense rowing and other fitness activities that the coaches had prepared for them.
The day began with an on-the-water sculling time trial, followed by an Ergometer trial. By this stage the students were absolutely exhausted and everyone was ready for the famous Friends of Radford Rowing extremely scrumptious, lovely and well organised morning teas.
Each year, the senior shed rowers and coxswains are presented with track pants and the rowers and coxswains for the other years that attend Boat Camp are presented with boat camp T-shirts. The slogan this year was: ?We?re oar?ll gonna to make it?
On Wednesday 28 January we had the Year 9 boys and girls squads join us at Boat Camp. For three mornings they were introduced to a mini version of Boat Camp.
Boat Camp was again a success and this is due to the time and effort that Mr Winkworth and the coaches put into their sessions each day but also to the parents, friends and caregivers of Radford rowing who gave up their time each morning to feed the hungry rowers, coxswains and coaches. Congratulations on a successful Boat Camp and best of luck for the remainder of the season.
Captains of Rowing - Corey Kovacs and Sarah Parsons.
