Exhibition Journey: Part 3
By Rachael Baldwin, Year 6
Last week was super action-packed and made many kids in Year 6 grow in friendships, resilience, and mental and physical strength. We started the week with anticipation for finding out groups on Tuesday. After the relief of knowing our groups, we kicked off Wednesday with around 200 push-ups at Swing into Life. Battle Ninja was a true mental and physical test. We ran up walls, slid through mud and lost shoes in the mud run. At the end of Wednesday, everyone was very tired but had a fantastic day!
On Thursday we were hit with a GIANT conference. In the morning, we had four spectacular guest speaker sessions to educate us on their journeys and special expertise. The speakers were Ian Anderson, Humberto Marum, Dennis Yarrington and lastly, four Year 12 students who talked about their own journey through Exhibition, and gave tips for a successful outcome. We chose three workshops out of a choice of 10. From recess to the end of the day, we were full to the brim with workshops with the Year 6 teachers and many others, such as Mr Ferrington and Ms Plenty.
Now we are coming to the end of the “tuning in” stage, and will slowly dive into our concepts. Thanks to our amazing group of teachers, the Year 6 cohort was challenged, inspired and grew more than we thought we ever could!
