What do you like best about your current role?

The excitement, enthusiasm and wonder of 7 year olds investigating and finding out about the world and the people in it.

Can you tell us about your role and current projects?

In addition to being a classroom teacher in the Junior School, I take Chess with Mr Ferrington as a co-curricular activity. I have a special interest in teaching primary mathematics (this was the focus of my PhD) and diagnostic assessment of student learning. I also work in the ACT Marking Centre, marking the NAPLAN writing task every year.

What did you do before joining the Radford community?

I was a teacher in the ACT public school system (where I first met and worked for Mr Paul Southwell our Head of Junior School) and worked in the ACT Department of Education and Training Assessment, Monitoring and Reporting Branch which administered NAPLAN, PIPS Kindergarten assessments and Year 10 certification.

What do you enjoy outside Radford?

Is there an outside Radford? Who knew!

What does this year hold for you?

I only completed my PhD last year so this year I am looking to start all those hobbies and other projects I put off while I was finishing up my thesis. This involves a LOT of sleeping and watching REALLY bad television!
