Year 6 PYP Exhibition
Last week we held our PYP Exhibition Parent Evening. It was a chance for Year 6 parents to learn more about the Exhibition process and discover how they can best support their child. For those who are new to the Junior School, the Exhibition is an in-depth, extended, collaborative, student-led inquiry. Our Year 6 students are challenged to engage with an issue of global importance and to lead their own inquiry over the course of about 8 weeks. The culmination of this process is an exhibition where students share their learning with the school and broader community.
This year the overarching concept for Exhibition is ‘Unless…’ This is inspired by the quote from the Dr Seuss book The Lorax. The focus challenges our students to find something they care enough about to want to make a difference. It is a solutions-focused and hope-filled exploration of the big issues of today.
Friday Sport is back!
A perfect day set the scene for the recommencement of Junior School Sport. During Term 3, students from Kindy to Year 6 will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Sports including: Tennis, Martial Arts, Oz Tag, Hockey, AFL, Yoga, Partner Dance and Soccer. By the end of the five-week program, it is hoped that students will have developed, improved and gained confidence in a new sport. We thank our Year 9 and 10 students for being wonderful role models to our Junior School students, by supporting and encouraging our young friends through the Service Learning Program.
