Radford Rowing won a myriad of medals this weekend at the biggest ACT school rowing event of the year, the Head of the Lake regatta. Our talented team reeled in an astonishing 11 gold, eight silver and four bronze medals!

Niamh Pascoe of Year 10 won the first gold medal of the day in her Schoolgirl Single Scull event. Further victories followed in the single sculls, with Jacinta Buckman claiming first place in the School Girl Division 1 event. In addition, Tyson Munro gained gold in the second division of the School boy Year 9 Single event.

To top off the accomplishments of the Radford small boats, Damien Schroder and Noah Sampson placed first in Division 1 of the Schoolboy doubles. Liam Kenneally and Chris Bush won the first division of the Schoolboy Year 9 doubles event. Callum Durnell and Oliver Bailey secured a gold medal in the second Year 9 doubles division.

As for the girls' double races, Lissie Gregory and Lily Smith-Saarinen ranked first place in their Schoolgirl event. Alison Barclay and Thea Buckman also scored first place in Division 2.

The Schoolboy coxed quad races saw Josh Everett, Griffin Williamson, Lucas Lang, Nick Seddon and cox Jemima Green rank 1st in the second division. In the B final of the Schoolboy Year 8 coxed quads, Oliver Fox, Hunter Jolly, Connor Jacopino, Hamish Roberts and cox Mitch Riepon claimed first place.

There is no doubt that Radford has achieved an outstanding set of results which represent a true reflection of the continuous efforts and time the rowers dedicate to the sport. We look forward to reaping the rewards of Radford's hard work at the biggest event in the rowing calendar ― the Head of the River ― to highlight the end of the season in the next few weeks.

An excellent effort from all our rowers
