Role of the Director of Student Development

Above: Claire Melloy, Director of Student Development, with Radford students
My role is to ensure that every student in Years 7-12 feels known, valued, safe and supported.
Part of my role will involve assessing current practice, with the view of developing pro-active, preventative whole school policies, practices and programs.

Engaging the whole community (staff, students and parents) is central to promoting effective pastoral care at Radford. The aim is to provide opportunities for all staff, students and parents to be involved in making decisions and making a contribution to the Radford community.
Step 1 will involve surveying students, staff and parents. Evaluation of this information will allow the development of programs and policies relevant to our students? wellbeing, strengths, needs and capacity.
A wellbeing survey will be distributed to staff this week. A survey will be distributed to parents next week and to the students by the end of February.
