Congratulations to Boronia on a wonderful victory in the recent Junior School Swimming Carnival at CISAC. They beat off spirited challenges from all the other Houses to eventually win quite comfortably from Wandoo in second place and Kurrajong in third place.
The Belconnen Zone Swimming Carnival is on Thursday at the AIS, so good luck to all our Junior School Swimming team (team listed below) that have qualified to represent themselves and the school on this exciting day.

Athletics - Twilight meet
The Sports office will be hosting an OPTIONAL twilight athletics meet, to be held on Friday 5 April from 4.00pm to 7.00pm at the AIS athletics track. This is to finalise the events that could not be held at the school carnival. Students are to make their own way to the track after school.
The events being offered are: 200m, 400m (16 years plus only), 1500m and triple jump. The javelin will be held at lunch time at school this week for students wanting to progress to ASC only.
Girls – Thursday 28 March
Boys – Friday 29 March
Congratulations to Joe Whithear on being crowned ACT Club Champion in the 1500m and 800m events at the ACT Athletics Club Championships last weekend. Joe raced a PB in the 800m event.
On Wednesday 20 March, the Radford U11 Division 1 and U14 Division 1 Cricket teams attended the ACT Junior Cricket Awards Presentation. The U11 team were champions in their competition and the U14 team were runners-up in their T20 competition. Congratulations to Fergus Boorer who was crowned Cricket ACT Junior Player of the Week in round 13 with bowling figures of 8/17.
Rugby - Matt Giteau Cup
On Friday 22 March 2019, the Radford Year 5-6 boys participated in the Matt Giteau Cup held at Campese Oval, Queanbeyan. The boys played exceptionally well finishing first in their group. Unfortunately, due to for and against they did not progress to the semi-finals.
Thank you to Tara Mitchell, Drew Miller and Stephen Larkham for coaching the team.
Congratulations to the NPLY teams who have all now picked up at least 1 point in their competition. The U13 team has now won two on the trot. An amazing feat considering Radford is the only school in the country playing National Premier League Football!
National Equestrian Centre (NEqC) has a program for children wishing to learn riding. Students will be collected from Radford College in a bus afterschool and transported to the riding school. We are currently offering this opportunity Year 5 -8 students but would be happy to take children from other years if there is interest/siblings. Parents would need to pick up participants between 5:15 and 5:30pm depending on level from NEqC.
NEqC offer a staged riding lesson system for all levels, however for new beginners 2-3 private lessons are required prior to starting in the group class. These ensure that the participant is confident around the horse and knows some basic safety processes and can be completed over a couple of weekends or potentially afterschool. There are packages available to help with the cost of the private lessons that include boots helmets and the workbook. There is currently space in levels 2 (first level after the private sessions), 3 and 4 on Thursday.
The cost of 10 group lessons is $585 which normally covers all of Term.
If you would like to register an expression of interest or would like more information please email Jade.firstname.lastname@example.org
Information is also available on the NEqC website http://www.neqc.com.au/index.html and you can contact them directly, just ask to speak to Emily. To Home
