Welcome Junior School Parents
A very warm welcome to all our Junior School families. Our school year has commenced extremely well, with very positive staff Professional Learning Days, followed by the real excitement of our years teaching commencement.
Cocurricular Update
Some families have received initial information and registration regarding Sport and Music Cocurricular options but I also wish to alert you to some additional opportunities which will be open for registration from next week. These sessions include: Drama Clubs, Dance/Oratory/Green Team/Chess Groups, Bushwalking, Chinese for parents, as well as Tribal Council, Leadership and Service Groups. Look out for upcoming information regarding these.
Drop-off/'pick and go' reminders
Some reminders regarding our drop-offs and 'pick and go'. As I write this, I'm aware that family structures vary so much across P-Y12, that a one-size model would be very difficult. In the morning, Y1-Y6 students will have a teacher on duty in their relevant sections from 8.15 am.
Afternoons:
- Students in Y1-Y6 may be picked up outside their rooms (parents are urged to park toward the back of the College).
- Y5-Y6 students may be picked up at our designated 'pick and go' site ? the new slip way.
- Y1-Y4 students may be picked up at the front of Y1-Y4 site. This area includes teacher supervision, even door opening! Drivers must remain with their vehicle here.
- Students crossing from P-Y4 site to Y5-12 site will be crossed under supervision at 3.30 pm, lessening the crossing issues.
- Students travelling by bus will be supervised at the appropriate areas.
Important dates and events
I draw your attention to the following important parent sessions to be held over the coming week:
- Hopes and Dreams - Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 February ? 3.30pm- 5.30pm.
- Reading Challenge - we look forward to updating you on our daily record with figures available tomorrow. I am in big trouble, keep it up.
Warmest regards
Paul Southwell
Head of Junior School
