Day for Daniel

By Years 5/6 Round Square Students

On 4 August Bruce and Denise Morcombe, from the Morcombe Foundation, visited Radford College and spoke with our Years 5 & 6 classes about child safety. Bruce and Denise Morcombe’s son, Daniel, went missing in 2003 while waiting to catch a bus to go Christmas shopping. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and denim jeans.

After discussing what we had learnt in more depth in our Round Square meeting, we wanted to take action. This year the Junior School will participate in spreading awareness about child safety by being part of Day For Daniel. On Friday 28 October the Junior School will be taking part in Day For Daniel. In class, students will participate in activities to learn more about child safety.

Students participating in Day For Daniel on Friday 28 October are encouraged to wear a red top and denim jeans.

To support the Morcombe foundation, students are asked to bring in a gold coin.
