What do you like best about your current role?

I have never felt more at home in a role. I am really grateful to put my comms skills to use in a thriving and supportive educational environment. Everyone is so friendly at Radford and my team in the Principal’s Building is fantastic – I really enjoy our quiz sessions at lunch.

Can you tell us about your role and current projects?

I have stepped into Laura Cook’s shoes as Communications Officer. I’ll be working closely with Mick Bunworth and Celia Lindsay across Radford communications, from the Bulletin to social media. During Term 4, we’ll be busy working on the Radford Report and Radfordian.

What did you do before joining the Radford community?

I was the Communications Officer at Yass Valley Council. Prior to that, I was a journalist with Fairfax Media and Region Media, which most will know as the company behind The Riot Act.

What do you enjoy outside Radford?

I moved to Canberra from Yass at the same time as I started working at Radford, so I’m really enjoying exploring the city and being close to cafes, shops and the gym again (although my bank balance isn’t as happy). I would love to hear where your favourite place is in Canberra.

Anything else interesting you might like to add?

I think I have lost most of my accent, but I am from the UK originally (moved in 2013). Above all, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work at Radford and I look forward to meeting everyone.
