Christmas Appeal information

The RTC recently undertook its annual shopping trip to Kmart to purchase gifts for the Capital Regions Community Service’s (CRCS) Christmas Appeal.

The RTC had raised $944 from running the Junior School Disco in Term 3. We took this money to Kmart, and each RTC member was responsible for selecting gifts valued up to $30. Tips for suitable gifts were given by Sam and Nat from CRCS when they visited the RTC recently.

It was a lot of fun exploring the many aisles and filling baskets with toys and other gifts. Sporting goods, Christmas decorations, soft toys, craft materials, books, candles and even home décor were selected by the busy Christmas helpers!

The price-check stations were highly sought after as students checked the price of their items and calculated how much of their $30 was remaining. This visit was a real-life maths lesson!

It was busy at the self-check registers as everyone scanned their items, bagged them up, and paid. Then, after a quick photo out the front, we headed up the escalator and out to the Radford buses that drove us back to school.

The RTC now warmly invites the Junior School community to contribute to the Christmas Appeal by bringing in a new, unwrapped gift and placing it in the Magic Bathtub in the foyer of the JS Reception.

Gifts will be collected until Friday, 18 November.
