Radford Stay-At-Home Sports Program Trick Shot Challenge winners

Congratulations to Angus Walker for taking out the Secondary School category and Will Mailler for taking out the Junior School category of the Radford Stay-At-Home Sports Program Trick Shot Challenge. Angus and Will will be presented with a $50 Rebel Sport gift voucher.

This term we are running the Trick Challenge – maybe you can juggle, spin a ball on your finger, walk on your hands or do a trick with a football? Students can enter by posting a video or photo to Flipgrid (see the Stay-At-Home Sports Program Microsoft Team), Radford Sport on Instagram or Facebook, or by emailing it to CCSports@radford.act.edu.au for their chance to win a $50 Rebel Sport gift voucher. Students can enter as many times as they like, however each trick video/photo must be different.

A best Junior School and Secondary School trick will be awarded. Entries close at the end of Week 4.

2021 NSW and ACT Group Training Awards

Congratulations to Ashley Fernandez (Year 12 Graduate 2020) for being awarded the 2021 NSW and ACT Group Training Apprentice/Trainee of the Year (school-based).

Ashley completed a School-based Traineeship (SportsReady Education) with the Sports Department and Junior School PE Team as part of her Year 12 Certificate in 2020. Throughout Ashley’s 18-month ASBA training she was responsible for sports administration, lesson preparation, supporting coaching sessions and working at school carnivals. Her knowledge and understanding of the school environment were invaluable, having been associated with the College since she was in Year 5. She was a highly valued member of the Sports Department and Junior School PE team.

Ashley successfully managed Year 12 and her ASBA qualification while also meeting her high-performance sporting commitments as a member of the Brumbies Super W Rugby team. This is an outstanding accolade.

Stay-at-Home Sports Program

While we remain learning from home over the coming weeks, students will still have access to the Stay-at-Home Sports Program, with some adjustments to the schedule. The updated schedule can be found here.

In addition to the Stay-at-Home Sports Program, students registered in some Summer Sports will soon have access to sport-specific Microsoft Teams. Information on these Microsoft Teams will be provided to appropriate families.
