Give joy this Christmas

Staff and students are invited to donate to Radford Junior and Secondary Schools' Christmas appeals. Details for each are below.

Junior School

The Junior School is again supporting the Christmas Hamper Appeal coordinated by Capital Region Community Services (CRCS). The organisation puts together around 100 hampers to brighten the Christmases of more than 260 people in the local Belconnen area.

The Radford Tribal Council (RTC) is inviting other students, staff and parents to support the Christmas Hamper Appeal by purchasing a new gift and placing it in the magic bathtub in the JS Foyer until Monday, 5 December.

Gift suggestions (all gifts to be unwrapped please):

  • BonBons
  • Christmas decorations
  • Christmas-themed food treats - mince pies, chocolates, nice coffee, etc.
  • Toys and games for children ranging from babies through to teens – think about what you would like for Christmas! Books, Pokemon cards, board games, sports equipment, and craft kits are all very popular gifts.
  • Gift vouchers, especially for teens. E.g., EB Games or other stores at the Westfield mall as this is the closest shopping area.

The RTC raised $933 at the Term 3 Junior School Discos and used the money to purchase gifts in Week 4 of Term 4 for the Christmas Hamper Appeal.

Secondary School

As well as the Junior School community collections, Secondary School staff and students are invited to donate non-perishable food items, Christmas hamper items and unwrapped Christmas gifts (including gift cards) to the tree in the Secondary School Library until Friday, 2 December.

Radford Awareness and Service (RAS) students have been raising money through BBQs for community outreach projects including Lion’s Club and St John’s Care pantry and present room. Find out more about the wonderful work of St John’s Care, and pantry items that are requested.
