Gold and Silver at Eisteddfod

The Australian National Bands and Orchestras Eisteddfod was held in Canberra recently. Our two big bands participated in the jazz band section on the evening of Thursday, 25 May. Big Band was awarded a Silver Trophy, and our Little Big Band won a Gold Trophy.

We had two concert bands competing in their relevant sections on Saturday, 27 May. Our most advanced concert band, Bernstein Symphonic Wind Orchestra, received a Gold Trophy, and our Gershwin Concert Band received a Silver Trophy.

My thanks go to Mr Ben Marston for his co-ordination of our participation in this event, as well as conducting three of the four groups. Thank you also to Mr Joe Taylor, Mrs Rowena Stevens, Mrs Julia Oreo, and Mrs Alyssa Maier for their assistance with our participating students. Congratulations to all students involved!
