A sustainable switch

By Susan Davenport Head of Library and Information Services, Sustainability Committee Member

While ever aiming to reduce our use of paper, Radford has made a decision regarding the paper that we do use, to use paper that is in alignment with our sustainability goals.

We are proud to feature our 2021 switch from 100% carbon neutral-paper, to Planet Ark Paper Unwrapped as the standard paper used around the College. It is the only 100% recycled, unwrapped copy paper on the market. To quote Planet Ark (2022):

Planet Ark Paper is made from 100% recycled Australian white paper-waste collected from secure document bins from workplaces around the country. Using recycled waste paper means less water and energy has been used in the production process. It also diverts the paper from landfill, keeping existing materials in circulation and expanding their life cycle.

Your secure office shredded paper could become your child’s next artwork!

In conjunction with our goals to reduce paper use and recycle used paper, this switch assists the College to:

  • reduce the sustainability impact caused by our paper use
  • reduce our overall carbon footprint, and
  • support the Australian recycled materials market.

We strongly encourage our staff, students, and community to recycle paper to use and prolong the life of recycled materials. We highly recommend this paper, sourced through local company Blue Ink Group, to businesses considering their sustainable paper use.
