Girls football pilot program

The Radford Football Program has identified that there is significant interest from female students aged 10–18 who are keen to be stretched and challenged in an advanced training environment to enhance their Football development.

Therefore, a pilot program will be delivered in Term 4 2021. This four-week program focusing on the core skills of football (soccer) will run in Weeks 7–10.

Training sessions will focus on football player development, including technical intelligence, position-specific knowledge, enhanced physical capability and the environment to love the game.

Students in the program will be coached by Ian Worthington, the Radford Sports Program Manager for Football. Ian has an extensive football career spanning over 25 years. He has worked at three English Premier League Clubs with both Junior Academy and Senior Professional players. He has also worked for the English FA as a Coach Mentor.

He holds the prestigious UEFA A Football Coaching License as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and has a Bachelor of Sports Science degree with Honours.

Ian will be joined by coaches Dianne Wilson and Esperance Anderson who are already immersed in the Radford Football Program and who have achieved the Football Australia C License in Football Coaching.
