DIanne Wilson: Acting Sports Operations Manager
What do you like best about your current role?
I love carnivals and game days. It is so rewarding to see the students having fun, improving and developing life skills and knowing I played a part in making that happen.
Can you tell us about your role and current projects?
I look after a lot of the logistics of Radford Sport, such as organising carnivals, some minor sports such as futsal and golf for the upcoming summer season, summer and winter sport registrations, holiday programs, facility hire, awards, budgets and am also the Radford Junior League Football Referee Coordinator.
What did you do before joining the Radford community?
I’ve barely left since starting Year 5 at the school in 2004. I graduated Year 12 in 2011 and returned shortly afterwards taking on some casual roles such as coaching, field set-up, refereeing coordinating and admin. I completed a Diploma of Sports Development and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management (scholarship from Coerver Coaching) and ran holiday programs at the AIS, coached with Coerver Coaching and was a receptionist at Performance Edge Physiotherapy before joining the Radford Sports Office fulltime in 2017.
What do you enjoy outside Radford?
I enjoy playing Football and Futsal, juggling the football and watching the AFL, in particular the Western Bulldogs.
How are you managing lockdown?
We are keeping busy with the Stay-At-Home Sports Program, bookroom stocktake and the Learning Hub as well as preparing for the upcoming summer season which we are hopeful will proceed in some capacity. Outside of the office I’ve been juggling the football, going for walks/runs and watching the AFL (go Dogs!)
