What do you like best about your current role?

I love that no day is the same – it keeps you on your toes! Every day is filled with something new and exciting that always keeps us busy.

I love that the students at Radford are such enthusiastic and committed learners, who always turn up to do their best. I have loved watching all Year 3 students flourish through remote learning – they have truly shown so much dedication and commitment to engaging with the tasks these past weeks. I have enjoyed hearing their stories and how they are going in lockdown through our daily meetings. They and their families should be so proud of what they have achieved during this time!

Lastly, I cannot forget to mention how much I enjoy working with my Year 3 team. They are such a dedicated and inspiring group of educators who make coming to work each day enjoyable.

Can you tell us about your role and current projects?

I am currently teaching Year 3 in the Ridge Building alongside my amazing teaching team and incredible students. The Ridge Building is one of the most beautiful learning spaces I’ve seen and is such an amazing space for the students to collaborate and connect. At the moment my current project is planning some exciting things for when the Year 3s return in Week 5!

What did you do before joining the Radford community?

Before joining Radford, I was living and working in Brisbane. I only moved to Canberra at the beginning of this year! In Brisbane, I was teaching at a large PYP school with around 2200 students and was Year Level Co-ordinator for Year 3.

What do you enjoy outside Radford?

Outside of Radford, I enjoy getting away to the beach, visiting new places, eating out and enjoying some retail therapy. Now that lockdown is over, I’m looking forward to continuing my exploration of Canberra and its surrounds!

How did you manage lockdown?

I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the opportunity to just take a moment to stop and pause. I enjoyed going for walks to explore my suburb and see the trees and flowers bloom. I also managed to complete a few little projects around the house, do some gardening and catch up on a few TV series, which was nice.
