P&F: Term 4 update

From the P&F President, Jim Lilley

As we move through Term 4 of 2021, I want to take the opportunity to look ahead to what should be a more productive year for the Parents and Friends Association in 2022! Unfortunately, some of our key events for the year were cancelled due to the recent lockdown but the committee looks forward to being able to fill the calendar next year.

Events for 2022
Planning for the Welcome Back BBQ and Movie Night has commenced, and we look forward to welcoming families on Friday, 25 February 2022.

Our AGM will be held on Tuesday, 1 March 2022. We would love to welcome some new committee members in 2022, so if it is something you have been considering we would welcome any questions you may have. Reach out to one of the existing committee members or email jim.r.lilley@gmail.com.

The P&F Ball will also be rescheduled to Saturday, 3 September 2022, so please put that date in your calendar and start practising your dance moves!

We are looking for someone to put up their hand to be the Fete Coordinator for 2022, so please get in touch if this sounds like the role for you! We have lots of notes and guidance from previous years and many people willing to be involved.

Radford Reaches In
Radford Reaches In is a community-based initiative formed by our three community groups: Radford Foundation, Collegians and the Parents & Friends Association. The aim of the initiative is to provide support to individuals or families within the Radford College community that are doing it tough.

Direct requests for assistance can be made, or Radford College community members who are aware of a family or an individual needing assistance can make a request on their behalf. Requests will be considered by a committee made up of representatives from each of the community groups and the Radford College Principal. You can find more information and contact information here.

Secondhand Uniform Shop
The Parents & Friends welcome our new Secondhand Uniform Shop manager Mrs Trish Smith. You may know Mrs Smith previously from the Pre-K Reception.

A huge thank you goes to Emily Dunne for managing the shop over the past few years and to Leeann Dunne for establishing and overseeing operations. Emily and Leeann were invaluable to the success of the shop and we wish Emily all the very best with her new endeavours.

The Secondhand Uniform Shop has re-opened and is accepting appointment bookings online via the Online Booking Link. When making an appointment, please include:

  • your contact details
  • items / sizes / male or female for the items you wish to purchase
  • details of how many children you want to purchase uniforms for
  • please remember to cancel or reschedule if you cannot attend your appointment.

The shop is not open for walk-in/unscheduled visits. Please book an appointment via the link above.

Appointment hours for Term 4 are:

  • Wednesday: 7:30am to 12:30pm
  • Thursday: 12:30pm to 5:30pm

Donations to the Secondhand Uniform Shop can be dropped at the Main Reception (Morison Centre) between 8am-5pm during term time.

Employment opportunity
Early in 2022 we will be seeking to employ a P&F Administrator. This is a paid part-time casual role with flexible working hours. Ideal for a parent of the school who may be interested in working some school hours on administration for the P&F and organising events. If you are interested, please let me know at jim.r.lilley@gmail.com, so that I can ensure you see when the role is advertised.
