Revue in review
Three shows, 97 year 12s, and over 800 audience members…
Revue 2022 has been an experience unlike any other. Even now, four weeks after we closed the show, it still baffles us that with just the creativity and ambition of our grade, and a whole lot of planning, we could get an entire show off the ground! This show will always hold such a special place in our hearts, as not only did we create a piece that is joyful and funny, but a piece inspired by the many memories made over the years during our time at Radford (with some overexaggerated exceptions – of course, we love you Mrs Hunter)!
Below is an excerpt from the Directors’ Note in the program:
As directors, we’ve never been more stressed and excited in the period of two weeks. It’s been a completely new experience: auditions, casting, a ‘table read’ and controlling bump in. The cast have been extremely supportive, and the crew have turned our show from people standing and talking to people standing and talking with lights (trust us, the lights add a lot).
We’ve loved seeing the excitement grow as we get closer to opening night and the realisation that we are opening in a few days.
We’re extremely proud of how everyone has come together and worked collaboratively to produce a fun, dramatic and exciting show that has served not only as a comical representation of our school today, but as a joyful bonding experience for our cohort. Thank you for your support, we are very grateful you’re here and we hope you enjoyed the show!
