SSACT selections
Several more Radford students have been named in ACT teams over the past few weeks. Please note – Radford Sport does NOT get officially notified by SSACT when a student is selected in an SSACT representative team. This information is publicised on the SSACT Facebook page or needs to be provided by the student or parent to CCSports@radford.act.edu.au for it to be celebrated.

2022 Kanga Cup – football
Three teams represented Radford football in this year’s Kanga Cup.
- The U17 Girls stepped up to compete against some very strong talented opposition from ACT and around Australia. The girls improved in every game they played and developed a fantastic team ethic.
- The U10 Boys entered the Kanga Cup for the first time and conducted themselves brilliantly with excellent coaching and continuous hard work from every boy. Results were mixed and included a thrilling win against Woden Valley.
- There was drama and excitement in the U11 Boys’ competition. Disallowed goals, extended time, and conceding after-time goals still didn’t stop this incredibly resilient group making the Grand Final, after coming back from a goal behind to win a thrilling semi. In a tense and frantic final, supported wonderfully by several Radford parents and staff, the U11 Boys eventually went down 1–0.
Every student should be incredibly proud of their efforts in a very busy, enjoyable week!
SSACT SELECTION TRIALS
12&U Boys and Girls Tennis
As the SSACT Primary Day scheduled in May was cancelled, SSACT will be conducting a singular 12&U Tennis (Bruce Cup) State Team Selection Trial on Sunday 24 July at the Canberra Tennis Centre in Lyneham.
The Bruce Cup will be played in Canberra from 22–29 October 2022. This event is self-funded. There will be costs for team entry, SSACT levy, training costs and uniform plus incidentals.
Selection Trial Date: Sunday 24 July
Time: Boys from 9am–11am, girls from 11am–1pm
Venue: Canberra Tennis Centre, Lyneham
