Sports Report: Term 4, Week 8

Western Sydney Wanderers Private Schools Cup

By Mr Ian Worthington, Sports Program Manager Football and Ms Dianne Wilson, Sports Operations Manager

On Wednesday, 22 November, Radford competed in the Western Sydney Wanderers Years 9/10 Boys' Private Schools Cup at the amazing Wanderers Football Park facility in Rooty Hill. The day started with a 6 am departure and ended with another trophy for the cabinet. The boys were also treated to a tour of the facilities and a meet and greet with some first-team players. Radford players quickly adapted to the five-a-side rules, such as no outs and not being allowed in the goalkeeper semi-circle, and should be commended on their professionalism on and off the pitch.

Results:

  • Game one: 4-2 win over Penrith Anglican College.
  • Game two: 2-1 loss to Hills Adventist College.
  • Game three: 7-2 win over International Maarif School of Australia.
  • Game four: 1-0 win over Australian International Academy.
  • Semi-final: 3-0 win over Australian International Academy.
  • Grand final: 3-0 win over Penrith Anglican College.
