Supporting students on and off the field

Radford offers top-class sporting facilities and resources and is uniquely positioned to offer our students a wide range of sport in which to compete and participate. The College is recognised as an ACT sports club in several junior competitions.

Radford’s club sports include basketball, cricket, football, futsal, netball and rowing, but the College also offers the opportunity to compete in Oztag, rugby, tennis and Snowsports.
Our club sports programs provide a distinctive blend of participation and competition. In most instances training sessions are scheduled before and immediately after school to accommodate our students' other commitments.

Performance development is seamlessly woven into both training and competition, fostering a pathway for progression into state and national programs. This is achieved with the support of a dedicated coaching structure, which includes our Director of Sport, Heads of Sports, and lead coaches. Our club sport programs also emphasise the importance of supporting students holistically. This commitment extends beyond the realm of sports but extends to academic growth and personal development through a strong connection with the pastoral and wellbeing teams at the College.

A key condition within the updated Sports Policy and Participation Guidelines is that a student who is interested in participating in any of the club sports in 2024, are asked to register and actively participate for Radford. This approach is crucial for Radford to build solid sporting foundations and foster a sense of unity and collective school pride. Radford families with children in Year 2-12 are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated Sports Policy and Participation Guidelines before the commencement of Term 1 2024.

Radford College values the lifelong health benefits, positive impact on student wellbeing, and a strong sense of school pride that comes from nurturing a vibrant culture of active participation and healthy competition in sport.

Registrations are now open for the 2024 Winter Sport season, and close on 29 January 2024. For further information and to access the registration links, please CLICK HERE.
