Isobel selected for U23 Australian Rowing Team

By Mr Gordon Marcks, Head of Rowing

Following her outstanding performances at the 2024 Australian Rowing Championships in Tasmania this March—where she claimed three gold medals in para events and contributed to the Girls’ Senior 1st Quad qualifying for the A Final—Year 11 student Isobel Egan was invited to the National Rowing Team Selection Trials in Penrith during the school holidays.

Her unbeaten streak at the nationals, along with decisive wins at the trials, impressed selectors and secured her a place on the Australian Rowing Team for the upcoming U23 World Rowing Championships in Poznań, Poland. Isobel will compete in the PR3 Women’s Single Scull, a para-rowing event that is making its debut at the U23 World Championships in July.

Before heading to Poland, Isobel will also join Rowing Australia’s Para Rowing Team on a European tour, competing at the International Para Rowing Regatta in Paris, France, in June.

She will be accompanied by Radford College Senior Girls’ Rowing Coach Max Meyer, who has also been selected for the U23 Australian Coaching Team and will support her throughout the tour and regattas.

We extend our warmest congratulations to both Isobel and Max on their incredible achievements and wish them all the very best as they represent Radford College and Australia on the international stage.
