The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides a globally recognised curriculum framework, embedding inquiry, critical thinking and intercultural awareness from the earliest years.

Round Square

Outdoor education tours

Through the Outdoor education program, students immerse themselves in adventurous experiences in residential and expedition environments. These tours build resilience, teamwork and a spirit of exploration, fostering independence and leadership in real-world contexts. Our program is tailored for students in Years 3 to 11 to discover new strengths and capabilities, taking them beyond their comfort zones.

Service learning tours

Radford’s service learning tours engage students in authentic projects that make a difference in communities. By contributing to sustainable initiatives, students develop empathy, social responsibility and a lifelong commitment to service. The College’s longstanding relationship with the communities in Timor-Leste and Gamilaraay, as well as the Round Square and Duke of Edinburgh programs enable students to combine national and international experiences with service, providing meaningful opportunities to learn through giving and to connect deeply with diverse communities.

Curriculum tours

Curriculum-based tours bring subjects to life by placing students in the heart of cultural and academic hubs around the world. Whether it’s language immersion, history fieldwork or scientific exploration, these experiences deepen classroom learning and spark new passions.

Students have also participated in tours directly linked to their studies, including:

Languages department tours to schools in France, China and Japan, with which Radford has exchange arrangements
The European Story of Science tour
The Earth and Environmental Sciences tour of New Zealand
The European History tour
The Central Australia Cultural Awareness tour.

These purposeful experiences enrich the curriculum, broaden perspectives and encourage students to view their studies in a global context.

Co-curricular tours

Radford’s rich co-curricular program extends globally, with international opportunities in music, sport, dance and drama. These tours allow students to showcase their talents, collaborate with international peers and represent Radford on the world stage.

Radford musicians have participated in activities such as Eisteddfods and the Combined Schools Music Festival, while students involved in sport travel individually and in teams to national and international events. These experiences inspire confidence, celebrate excellence and highlight the breadth of Radford’s co-curricular opportunities.
