The Radford Institute
The Radford Institute is our centre for professional learning and innovation in teaching. It provides staff with research-based opportunities to extend their expertise and bring cutting-edge practice into the classroom. The Institute also serves as a hub for collaboration with educators beyond our College, ensuring Radford remains at the forefront of educational thought and delivery.
Information and communications technology (ICT)
Technology is seamlessly integrated into learning at Radford. Through our 1-to-1 ICT Program, students from Year 3 onwards have access to personal devices, supported by our Apple Distinguished School status and a College-wide digital learning platform. A shared device program is available for students in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2.
The ICT Program:
- ensures technology is available as a tool to support students in every lesson, if and when needed
- initiates more differentiated and student-centred learning
- allows us to provide and utilise high-quality and subject-specific software and apps
- provides constant access to the College’s learning management systems.
ICT enriches every subject area, enabling students to collaborate, research and create in new and dynamic ways. Our dedicated ICT team supports safe, purposeful use of technology, building digital literacy and responsible online citizenship from the earliest years.
Sustainability
Innovation also means leading by example. Radford takes environmental sustainability seriously, driving learning with action to secure a brighter future for our students and the planet. From energy-efficient facilities and waste reduction programs, to student-led initiatives and the drive of the Sustainability Working Group, we are proud to be at the forefront of eco-conscious education in Canberra.
