Your Radford Parent Login

As a member of the College community, you will be assigned an account to sign in to ICT services. Your Radford account’s username is typically a series of numbers, followed by @radford.act.edu.au. For example, 1234@radford.act.edu.au.

Password Guidelines

The password policy for Radford Parent accounts have recently changed as we have migrated parent accounts to “Cloud Only”

Cloud only accounts are subject to a password policy, which includes the following requirements:

1. Your password must be at least 8 characters long (we recommend minimum 13) and can be as long as 256 characters.

2. Your password must include at least three of the following four types of characters:

a. Lowercase letters (e.g., a, b, c)

b. Uppercase letters (e.g., A, B, C)

c. Numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3)

d. Symbols (e.g., @, #, $)

Avoid using words or abbreviations that are Radford-related or part of your first or last name, as this may cause your password to fail.

How to Generate a Strong Password

There are many ways to generate a strong password. Here are two:

  • join three or more dictionary words together to make a password more than 13 characters e.g. FreeUnmatchedPixel12
  • use a passphrase generated out of a song or book title e.g. “The Beatles 1968 We All Live in a Yellow Submarine” could become Tb68WaLiAYSub

Your passphrase should be meaningful to you but not easy for others to guess.

If you are having trouble generating a new password, we highly recommend the website https://what3words.com. With What3Words you can choose a map location that is meaningful for you, then use the three words for that location as your password.

You can test the strength of your password here: https://howsecureismypassword.net

You can see if your password is a known weak or breached password at this website https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords
